Toronto, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and Quebec City along the St. Lawrence — Canada's historic east.
View itinerary →Your wine country day begins with pickup around downtown Toronto, before your coach heads south along the Queen Elizabeth Way toward the Niagara Peninsula, one of Canada's premier wine-growing regions. As the city gives way to open countryside, your guide will introduce the area's unique microclimate, shaped by Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment, which allows over a hundred wineries to flourish here. Settle in and enjoy the scenic drive past orchards and vineyards as anticipation builds for a day of tastings ahead.

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ONThe day's centrepiece is a visit to two or three family-run wineries along the scenic Niagara Parkway, where you'll sample a flight of the region's signature wines, from crisp Rieslings to the prized icewine Niagara is famous for worldwide. Knowledgeable hosts walk you through each pour, explaining how the peninsula's limestone soils and lake-moderated climate produce grapes found almost nowhere else in Canada. Wander the vineyard rows between tastings, snap photos of the rolling rows of vines, and pick up a bottle or two to bring the taste of Niagara home with you.

This stop is free time, so grab lunch on your own at one of the town's many cafes or bistros, then wander past the Prince of Wales Hotel and colonial-era clapboard houses that have earned this town its reputation as one of the prettiest in the country. History buffs can also explore its ties to the War of 1812 at nearby Fort George.
