The Sacramento Kings, the oldest NBA team in the country, are partnering with JMA Ventures in building the nation’s premier NBA sports and entertainment center – the Golden 1 Center and its surrounding development, Downtown Commons. The Golden 1 Center entertainment sports complex will be an internationally iconic destination for world-class basketball, luxury retail, tech-forward office space, and luxury hospitality (InterContinental Group), and residences.

The project will be fully operational in October 2016, when the Golden 1 Center opens its doors for the start of the 2016-2017 NBA season.

The Kings’ ownership group is led by Vivek Ranadivé, an entrepreneur, technology visionary, author, philanthropist, and successful sports team owner widely recognized for his out-of-the-box thinking. Ranadivé is the founder of TIBCO Software, Inc., a multi-million dollar real time computing company. Ranadive is credited with digitizing Wall Street in the 1980s with his first company.

Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal – whose decorated 19-year career includes 15 NBA All-Star selections and inclusion by the league as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History – is among the minority owners.

The franchise’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Chris Granger, runs the Kings’ day-to-day business operations. Granger previously served as leaguewide Executive Vice President of the NBA’s Team Marketing and Business Operations function, where he drove numerous and consistent records for game attendance, gate receipts, and sponsorship revenue for the league and its affiliates.

JMA Ventures: A full-service real estate investment firm, serving as managing partner of over $800 million in existing projects spanning hospitality, leisure, residential developments, retail, office and industrial/ telecom.
